Located in what is known as Hub Town, area between Ossipee and Altamahaw, the house was built in 1900 by Dr. Talbert Kernodle. The Dr. Talbert Kernodle House is labeled A-3-7 in the Alamance County Historical Architecture Inventory catalog. In 1911, Dr. Charlie Kernodle purchased the house. The house is two-stories, side gabled with a center gable portico. There are seven marble fireplaces with three unusual chimneys. The Hensley Family purchased this home in 1966 from the Kernodle family heirs (JP & Virginia) Sprinkle.
